company history

Maryland Sound Industries Inc. (MSI) was formed in 1970 to provide audio engineering and tour support to the concert sound/entertainment industry. During its formative years, Maryland Sound supported many notable clients on Worldwide Tours. Included were: Pink Floyd, Whitney Houston, Michael Bolton, Kenny G, Toni Braxton, Talking Heads, Little Feat, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Boyz to Men, Manhattan Transfer, George Benson, Chicago, Bette Midler, Carly Simon, The Beach Boys, and others too numerous to mention. A more recent endeavor was the responsibility for the audio reinforcement on the recent Whitney Houston Live HBO Special.

Maryland Sounds' success in the sound/entertainment industry afforded them the opportunity to form a permanent installation division in 1975, which provides sound and video contracting services to the entertainment and construction industries. Maryland Sound is presently housed in the historic Dickeyville Mill, located in the Woodlawn section of Baltimore. On October 1, 1996, ECS Technologies, Inc. acquired the Permanent Installation Division of Maryland Sound Industries, Inc, and a new company was formed with two separate organizations - Maryland Sound & Image, Inc. (MARYLAND SOUND)
